Hometown/ Places I’ve lived: I grew up in a small town called Larabee, CA but I now consider Eureka my home.
Education: Right after I graduated from high school I started beauty school at Fredrick and Charles. I have also attended many of Aveda’s advanced education classes.
When did you start at Juniper Salon? July 2010
My favorite thing about my work is: Getting to make my clients feel good about themselves and see them walk out the door with a smile on their face.
What is your specialty? I love enhancing my client’s hair color. Whether it’s a touch up, subtle change, or something dramatic Aveda’s color line is completely customizable which allows me to be artistic and creative with my formulas.
What quote or mantra do you strive to live by? “The real opportunity for success lies within the person and not the job.” Zig Ziglar
What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Probably jumping off a high bridge into the river at a local swimming hole. I don’t think I’m a very daring person.
My guiltiest pleasure: NETFLIX!
What makes you awesome? I think that always striving to learn more and better my skills makes me awesome.

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? I took a month long road trip to move to California in 2010 without ever having even been west of the Mississippi!
My guiltiest pleasure: Baking! I try to give away the goodies I make, but my family and I definitely end up eating most of them.
What makes you awesome? Every morning I wake up happy, and I’m enthusiastic about pretty much anything I do. I view every experience as an opportunity to learn and have a good time!

Samantha is an Arcata native who recently returned to Humboldt after living in Oregon. Samantha graduated from Phagans Beauty College in Grants Pass in 2013. She is skilled at both cutting and coloring but she LOVES blondes and has a passion for balayage and the most current blonding techniques. Samantha can accommodate clients who need evening appointments on a regular basis.
